About the Artist

Jason Limberg is an artist who focuses on drawing, working primarily in pen & ink. Living in the woods of the Upper Peninsula I am surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and scenery.

I’ve always had a deep fascination with the forest and its inhabitants. There is a mysterious, ephemeral quality of the natural realm that captivates me.

My work is a personal journal of the inner peace I find in the woods, integrated with musings of the animals' lives weaving among the trees.

Much of my passion lies in translating the intricate details and subtleties of the environment, alongside the surreal elements of my imagination.

With an empathetic eye, I strive to reveal the spirit and essence of the animals I draw. I am a draftsman aligned with the night, captivated by the natural breath, & searching for the timeless dance.

Each ski model offers different length characteristics, see each individual model page for more information.

What bindings should I get?

You can use any binding on Shaggy's Skis as long as the brake width is at least as wide as the waist width of the skis. We run Marker Griffon and Marker Squire bindings on our demo skis. Visit your local ski shop for bindings and mounting.

Are they tuned and waxed?

Skis come tuned with a 1° base edge bevel and a 2° side edge bevel and a slight tip/tail detune. The skis are waxed with a universal temperature wax to get you going.

Premium Materials

Core
Select cut Northern Michigan hardwood: Depending on the specific model selected, ash, poplar, or aspen are hand-selected and cut into full length strips. Strips are individually flex indexed and laminated together symmetrically. Each laminated core is CNC milled to a precise thickness profile developed for each model and length.

Composites
Unidirectional carbon fiber and lightweight triaxial fiberglass are used in varying amounts in each model to provide unparalleled performance. Rubber bonding strips placed along edges, sidewalls, and ends for rock solid bonding.

Bio-Based Epoxy
Entropy Super Sap Epoxy contains 28% bio-based content and is specifically designed for skis. It's formulated for high strength and impact resistance, which create a durable, tough and lightweight composite.

Sidewall
Full-height UHMW - the same raw material as your base, bombproof and double chamfered for reduced swingweight. A rounded mini-cap top edge rolls over the sidewall to protect your topsheets.

Topsheet
Clearview gloss nylon with sublimated graphics and transparent windows to the wood core.

Base + Edge
1.4 mm CNC Knife Cut 4001 Race Grade Durasurf sintered UHMW. 2.2 mm over-sized and heat treated edges take a beating.

Ahmeek Update

I bought my first pair of Shaggy Ahmeeks 8 years ago. It’s been my go to ski ever since. After 200 days on the ski I figured it was time for the upgrade. Unlike my first pair which I customized the ski, I went with one of the stock CU models for the added “steeze”. Right out of the box, the skis exceeded my expectations. Same great ski only a little bit better. It rails on hard pack; plows through the crud; floats in the freshies; and slices through the ice. The most versatile ski anything ski I have ridden. The new Ahmeek really rewards you when you stay centered over the ski. It becomes a rocket ship. Ive said this before - Buy your skis from a local ski company that knows and loves skiing. Avoid those big name conglomerates with their corporate boards that don’t understand what skiing is. Life is short, get a pair of Ahmeeks and enjoy the ride!

So easy to ski, it feels like cheating!

I'm 5'11 and 190lbs, and I'm 52 years old. I purchased these skis primarily for accessing more terrain at my favorite Yooper hill. My old 108's that I use to ski in Alaska were too long for the bus and difficult to maneuver in the trees and narrow shoots, especially in crappy conditions. My Ahmeek 105's at 180cm however, not only allowed me to gain better access, but rip nearly every condition that I've encountered over the last two seasons like nothing I'd ever imagined before. My buddies have tried to convince me that I'm just a good skier, but I'm pretty sure it's the skis. They're light and playful and with a stiff boot, I can push forward and carve the groomers and slash trough mashed taters like I only wish I could have 30 years ago. The length, width and rocker make for a super forgiving ski in the steep glades and shoots and keep me floating high and linking turns from top to bottom without fatigue. That's saying something. In closing, I love these skis and wish it was endless winter!
